Great pig nutrition is nothing without great care. That’s where Dr. Dan McManus comes in. A veterinarian by trade, Dan is the go-to guy for troubleshooting challenges that might limit pig performance in swine nurseries and wean-to-finish barns across the Midwest.
Pork production is not a simple business, and Dan thrives on the variety of the work. Growing up on a livestock operation and spending decades walking pig barns, Dan has developed a knack for finding the thing that’s not quite right in the barn, whether it’s limited air flow, high water pressure or heat lamps that aren’t just right. If your newly weaned pigs aren’t comfortable, he’ll figure out why.
Dan received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois in 1982. He worked in swine management for 19 years before joining Purina Animal Nutrition in 2007.
